During the ice storm in 1998, victims of the storm had no heat, water and electricity, which made their homes uninhabitable. The insurance companies refused to pay additional living expenses such as lodging and food.

Decembre 20 th, 2000: Motion for authorization to institute a class action.
Novembre 17th, 2005 : Judgment on the motion for authorization to institute a class action
October 23th, 2012: Agreement in principle with 4 of 19 sued insurance companies
December 18th, 2012: Judgment approving the settlement agreement with Intact Insurance
September 2nd, 2014: Judgment approving settlement 15 defendants
September 9th, 2015: Judgment closing Intact
July 4th, 2016: Judgment closing 15 defendants.
