Class action against the Société des loteries du Québec (Loto-Québec)
Class action description
On September 26th, 2017, the Superior Court authorized Option consommateurs and the designated person, Denis Dagenais, to initiate a class action against Loto-Quebec on behalf of the following group:
“All persons who have entered a contract with the Defendant to play the online paying version of Slingo with a number generator since May 30th, 2016”

Plaintiff Option consommateurs alleges that Loto-Québec engaged in false or misleading advertising and omitted to inform consumers of material facts concerning Slingo. Plaintiff therefore petitions the Court to:
Condemn the defendant to pay:
A sum equivalent to the total amount spent by members by betting on Big Money Slingo, minus the total amount awarded by Defendant to members who won.
Punitive damages of which the amount is to be determined.
